‘Angel’ handmade, imprinted with lace, stained with black oxide, parts of the jacket have been painted with a satin white glaze as well as the sleeve and the fowers. The centre of the flower has a bronze glaze.
Rustic’ – I love trying different techniques and I call this a Moroccan Pattern Leaf. The result was a big surprise; almost as though the leaf had a mind of its own as the glaze had no sheen to it! I wanted to re-fire it…but my instinct said no. Everyone who has seen it loves it the way it looks. Looks wonderful on a table with candles.
Ceramic Coiled Curvaceous is a bowl made in a style reminiscent of Ancient Rome. Hand coiled and imprinted with lace, swirly patterns and protea flowers at the bottom as a surprise. Fired with Blue Grotto glaze on the inside, with Cobalt Glass on the bottom.
I was thrilled when I opened the kiln and saw my coiled pots; I like the rustic look and love the Turquoise Craquelle glaze. Looks wonderful on the bookshelf! This would be an excellent gift for someone special in your life!
I made ‘Huddled’ using leaves from my garden and when it came out the kiln I loved it …definitely a wow! All the veins and textures have flawlessly transferred to the clay, made all more vivid by Black Magnesium Oxide. Would be great to use with a candle that allows the light to pour out the gaps between the leaves.
