Were you here when Jislaaik first started? In 2016?
For 4 years we have been doing the same thing – making local even more lekker!
But, like all good things, it’s time for a change! A big change!
This is our first official rebrand & revamp! We’re rebranding into a more minimalistic but upmarket look and we are changing the way we do things around here!

Firstly, the new look…
We are utterly grateful to Charise from Olive & Arrow Creative for working so hard to create this stunning brand! She’s one amazing person, super sweet and absolutely talented. We met through one of our collaborations, where we started “stalking” her for a while on Instagram and then just one day we started chatting about possible collab ideas. That’s how Jislaain was founded! Get it… “Jis” from Jislaaik and “laain” (pronounced as line) from her one line drawings. You can still checkout what we’ve been up to in that multi-layered collaboration. We have however only decided to start with the #jislaainsostees in the revamp as our official collab.
Collaborations
Then the major shift that Jislaaik has made is to focus mainly on limited & exclusive collaborations – where we produce unique items that places emphasis on the local talent within South Africa. Each collaboration project will have a meaningful purpose, and with that purpose we will support & contribute financially to various charitable organisations in line with our values. With this venture, we aim to support and help grow other local brands to better South Africa for everyone. It’s not just about the products and making sales – but it’s about creating friendships, relationships and empowering & cheering on each other to keep going and making this world a better place.
Suppliers
We will still be stocking some items from certain suppliers – which you will find in our online shop. These suppliers will be aligned with our values & our new brand! We have narrowed down the amount of suppliers which we are listing for now – but be sure to check out who gets added online next.
Blog
We’ve also added a blog, as you might have noticed already… And we’d like to give another big shout out to Desirae Pillay from A Million Beautiful Pieces who will be bringing magical words into our blogging space! She is a truly inspirational person & writer – so please be sure to give her a follow. We will also be welcoming blog posts from other bloggers around South Africa.
We have so many plans that we can’t wait to share with everyone! Keep following and engaging with us via social media/email/our website and at certain markets – yes, we’ll be attending a few markets pretty soon.
Thank you for being you and for supporting local!
